Gaustaløypa

Gaustaløypa, at Gaustatoppen in Norway, is a historically significant off-piste ski route, initially intended for the 1940 World Alpine Skiing Championships. Known for its challenging features, it boasts an extraordinary vertical drop of 1600 meters. From the summit of Gaustatoppen all the way down to the village of Rjukan. It is today open to ski for specialists at their own risk. The community has been actively involved in restoring this iconic track, aiming to make it a premier destination for both winter skiing and summer hiking. This effort highlights Gaustaløypa's potential as a unique and thrilling skiing experience.
